Affordable Housing – Women In Property Lunch in the City Event

At the end of September, our colleagues Michelle James and Liam Hopkins acted as chair and expert panel member for the Women in Property South Wales Lunch in the City, which explored the constraints, challenges and opportunities faced when delivering affordable housing.

Wider panel experts included Freya Rideout from Barratt Developments PLC, Rhian Lees from Newydd Housing, Antonia John from Encon Construction Limited and Louise Howells from Blake Morgan LLP.

The panel provided different insights from their respective roles in the design and delivery of affordable housing, with Liam addressing the design opportunities around placemaking, health and wellbeing and SUDS and also elaborating on some of the wider strategic opportunities for affordable housing delivery to align with wider regeneration priorities for high street and city centre regeneration, active travel and public transport enhancements and climate resilience.

Thank you to the fellow panel members and Rhian Peploe-Williams, Chair of the Women in Property South Wales branch, for all the effort and organisation. Also thank you to all those that attended.
