Talking Sustainability with Tokyo

James Foxhall

This week our Director, Mike Fox, contributed to an SDG Roundtable discussion, hosted by Bristol City Council and the SDG Alliance for Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

It was exciting to hear that Bristol is a world leader in the adoption and integration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals into urban governance and interesting to hear a such diverse range of perspectives from Alliance members, including the University of the West of England, the University of Bristol, Burges Salmon LLP, BRISTOL FOOD NETWORK CIC, Tranquil City, Materials in Mind and Development Initiatives.

It was great to share how we are integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into our regeneration and placemaking work, but more importantly, learn from others.

Plenty to reflect on at The Urbanists as we continue on our quest to become a more sustainable business. And hopefully, the scope for future collaboration and learning between the RTPI International and our peers in Japan.
