The Urbanists Present on the Future of our Town Centres

author
James Foxhall

Our Director, Liam Hopkins, spoke at the RTPI Cymru Spring Conference in Llandudno on how placemaking plans and masterplans can play a key role in attracting the right investment back into our town centres. Liam and our team have delivered over 30 placemaking related regeneration strategies across Wales and England in the past four years, and the conference provided us with an opportunity to share some of the lessons that we have learnt. Key messages were the value of working across government departments to bring key public services back into town centres, the importance of local leadership and engagement in creating locally owned plans, the need for partnerships with landowners and private investors and the opportunity to build in climate resilience and health and wellbeing through green infrastructure.
