Our Charity Partners 2023/2024

The Urbanists are proud to announce the two charitable organisations we will be supporting this year. These are:

Babbasa – a multi-award winning youth organisation that supports underrepresented young people to advance their professional ambitions.

Make Space for Girls – a charity which campaigns for parks and public spaces to be designed with teenage girls in mind.

As planners, urban designers and landscape architects, these represent causes that The Urbanists are passionate about. Namely, addressing inequality and creating spaces that meet the needs of all users, particularly those disadvantaged by mainstream practice.

Babbasa believe that though talent is evenly distributed across the globe, opportunities are not. They work with underrepresented young people, businesses, and the community to address inequalities and produce a fairer Bristol. Their programmes have already supported over 4,000 young people to increase their confidence and achieve their education, enterprise and employment aspirations.

Make Space for Girls is working on a range of projects which improve parks and other outdoor spaces in order to support opportunities for teenage girls and improve their mental and physical well-being and their access to public space. They collaborate with a wide range of institutions, including universities, health trusts, councils and developers to create change; and engage directly with teenage girls to ensure their voices are heard.

We look forward to working with these excellent organisations.

Keep an eye out for news of our fundraising exploits in the near future!
