Perth Development & Design Guide

11th December

Our colleague, Will Purdie was a featured speaker at the ‘Placemaking and Scotland’s Place-Makers in 2023’ online conference hosted by Mackay Hannah on 30th November. Will delivered a presentation titled ‘Sharing Experiences of Placemaking’ which focused on placemaking policy and practice in Wales; including topics such as: the DCfW Placemaking Wales Charter, experience and value of public engagement with project delivery through feasibility and funding streams.

‌In other Scotland-based news The Urbanists have been appointed to prepare the Perth City Design and Development Guide on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council. The design guidance will include the city centre and also a series of key investment areas within the city, including: the university, harbour area, culture quarter and train station. The aspirations for the project are ambitious and will be critical to the future vitality of the city, ensuring Perth continues to be resilient and vibrant; building on the existing Perth City Plan by preparing guiding principles for “good growth” in a design and development guide for the city. We are pleased to have the opportunity to help shape the future of Perth.
