Experienced Urban Designer

Due to ongoing business growth, we are recruiting an Urban Designer with 3 to 5 years experience of in residential masterplanning to join our team.

Our ideal candidate will have good commercial awareness and strong design skills that have been honed on complex sites. They will also have good three dimensional design, good graphic and verbal presentation skills as well as the ability to take ownership of their projects (with the support of others). Whilst these skills are important, we recruit people with wider interests and experience. Hence we are also looking for someone who is looking for a diverse workload that will also include regeneration projects and frequent interactions with our landscape and planning teams. Above all, we are looking for a willingness to learn and grow and we will provide a professional development plan to ensure that this happens.

A good level of technical ability is important as is software use. The technical knowledge will be derived from either an MA in Urban Design or on-the-job experience, as well as a Degree in Planning, Architecture or Landscape Architecture. Our primary tool is Vectorworks and we can provide training and guidance for those who have not used it before.

We operate in Cardiff and Bristol and our strong preference is that this post is based in Cardiff with a degree of flexible home working. However, we will be willing to discuss arrangements with the right candidates from outside of the Cardiff area.
